But how does the fiber laser cutting process work?
The laser cutting process is one of the most precise and advanced technologies for metal cutting. It is based on two main phases:
- Metal heating: A highly concentrated light beam (the laser beam) is projected onto the material to be cut. This beam has a high energy density, which is absorbed by the metal surface, causing a rapid temperature increase.
- Cutting: The laser power heats the metal until it reaches the melting point or even the evaporation point. When the material vaporizes, a groove is created along the desired cutting line. Once the process begins, the laser beam continues to follow the path, completing the cut with extreme precision.
The result is a clean and neat cut, ideal for industrial applications that require impeccable quality and details.
