How does the oxy-fuel cutting process work?

1. Metal Sheet Preheating The oxy-fuel cutting process begins with controlled heating of the metallic material. Using a high-precision oxyacetylene flame, the metal sheet is gradually brought to the operating temperature of 900-1200°C, an essential condition to ensure clean and precise cutting.

2. Controlled Oxidation Phase Once the optimal temperature is reached, the chemical oxidation reaction is activated. The pure oxygen jet is directed onto the heated surface, triggering the reaction between the iron in the metal sheet and oxygen. This process generates iron oxide and produces additional heat that keeps the combustion active.

3. Precision Cutting The concentrated oxygen flow, positioned at the center of the flame, effectively removes the liquid slag formed during oxidation. This mechanical action creates a clean and uniform groove in the metal sheet, completing the thermal cutting process with high dimensional precision.
